Monthly Progress Review: August

It is time again for my Monthly Progress Review.

Listed below is a summary of the dividends I received, as well as the purchases I made for the month of August in my Dividend Income Portfolio:

Dividends Received
*ABT - $51.83
*PAYX - $45.18
*PG - $45.49

Therefore for the month of August my dividend income total was $142.50.  Not bad for only three of my companies paying dividends this month; however, these three companies are my 'heavy hitters' (if you will) and make up roughly 30% of my portfolio.  Overall, no big surprises though and I was happy with the amount of dividends received.

August was a crazy month for me in terms of purchases.  Listed below is a quick review of the buys I made this past thirty days:

*Realty Income (O) - 150 shares
*General Electric (GE) - 60 shares
*Waste Management (WM) - 30 shares
*AT&T (T) - 45 shares

With the addition of August's dividends added to my Progress Tab, I have now achieved a small feat, and have earned $1,001.13 of completely passive income (through dividends) this year.  Praise the Lord!

Finally, after initiating positions in O and T, I have now achieved one of my 2011 Goals as well.

Well, that's all for now.  As always, I appreciate your thoughts and insight.

Thanks for reading.

  1. Great work Partisan!

  2. Nice going. Any reason you invested all of this in one month?

  3. INQ,

Thanks for the comment. I invested as much as I could in August because I felt there were some very good prices and I wanted to get in while everyone else was getting out. I knew the market would rebound a bit, and it appears that it already has!

    Take care,

  4. DP,

I think there were some bargains to be had in August with the recent pullback in the market. It was a good month to deploy some cash. Nice work on the $142.50 in passive income. It's great when it flows into your account like that without having to do any extra work.

I will add you to my list of dividend sites that I am following and watch for new content on my site as well. I had a soft launch with my website with a couple articles, but plan on steaming ahead full time with the website in September.

    Thanks for your service!

  5. Great job, I have shares of O and GE as well.
